FACULTY OF SPORTS SCIENCES HOSTS BIOMECHANICS WORKSHOP!

Biomechanics and Electromyography Workshop Held at Near East University

The Faculty of Sports Sciences at Near East University hosted the Biomechanics and Electromyography Workshop on December 9-10, 2024, marking a significant event in the field of sports sciences. The workshop, which focused on the role of movement analysis and electromyography in sports sciences, concluded with a strong turnout.

The two-day event began with a detailed exploration of the theoretical foundations of movement science, biomechanics, and electromyography. On the second day, participants had the opportunity to apply this theoretical knowledge through practical sessions.

Prof. Dr. Haydar Demirel (Near East University) and Dr. Hüseyin Çelik (Hacettepe University) participated as speakers and practitioners, sharing their expertise with attendees. Dr. Hüseyin Çelik, in particular, provided insights into electromyography through hands-on applications, playing a vital role in the practical segment of the workshop.

The workshop attracted a diverse group of participants, including students, academics, and researchers from Near East University and other institutions. It garnered significant interest from both students and faculty members. Throughout the event, new projects aimed at advancing the use of technology in sports sciences and fostering multidisciplinary collaborations were discussed and planned.

Representatives from the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Near East University emphasized that such workshops contribute to scientific progress by promoting the exchange of both theoretical and practical knowledge. They also announced plans to continue organizing similar events in the future.
