Aims of the Program

Higher education institutions, which serve as a bridge between the complex world of today and the future, need change, renewal and modernization. In this context, higher education institutions take on important responsibilities. The importance of universities being able to capture social and universal change is clearly seen today. Universities, which are responsible for producing and disseminating knowledge on the one hand, and preparing students for working life by having certain qualifications on the other, should be active members and representatives of international science and technology. Because universities that contribute to the enrichment of knowledge and produce knowledge will now be able to survive in the 21st century.

The main purpose of NEU SBF Sports Management Department is to satisfy the students who are both input and output of the service process and to provide qualified manpower to the society. Bringing a qualified workforce to the society depends on the quality of the education service provided. As a service enterprise, educational institutions’ ability to improve their quality requires knowing what faculty members understand from quality education and the quality of the service they provide. The starting point of quality activities should be the expectations of students and faculty from each other and from their institutions.

It is a fact accepted by everyone that a society that has caught up with the times at the level of higher education will create a strong economic structure and look to the future with confidence. In developed countries, this fact is highlighted and constantly reviewed in terms of higher education quality, and it remains an important issue on the agenda of governments, the private sector and the media.

The understanding of quality, which is seen as a necessary element in increasing success and quality, should be placed as a holistic approach in all management and processes. This will only be possible with total quality management, which is a modern and rational management approach. The ability of students to be employed after graduation, their progress in the fields in which they are employed, and their ability to adapt to change is directly proportional to the quality of education they received before starting service. Therefore, monitoring and follow-up of graduates should be continued for quality. NEU SBF Sports Management Department employees have a great participation in the preparation of the faculty curriculum. The quality policies within this framework are as follows:

• Students will not be victimized as a result of solving the problems they will encounter,
• Equipped leaders play an active role in terms of student satisfaction,
• Teamwork is given importance,
• In-service training is continuous,
• There is an effective communication network,
• Faculty members are extremely loyal to their departments.

In this context, the management’s understanding of quality and its ability to adapt to changing conditions are extremely important for contemporary education systems. University management must understand the basic concepts of quality and carry out the necessary activities for their universities within the framework of the basic concepts. Total quality management requires a long-term study that will achieve success step by step. Guidelines are needed in this regard in terms of quality. This framework will determine the mission and vision of the university in terms of quality.
